How to read a Guard scan result.
Guard checks your WordPress site for signs of an attack and helps you look into what changed.
Start with a scan
Both Free and Pro support manual scans. Free also scans weekly. Pro adds daily scans, a choice of schedules and checks between scans.
Check scan coverage
Check whether the scan finished and whether any areas could not be inspected. A scan result is not a promise that every possible problem has been found.
Read each finding
A finding explains what Guard detected and why it matters. Review the details before changing a file or setting.
Set suspicious files aside
Quarantine means setting an item aside rather than deleting it straight away. Free includes quarantine and restoration for individual files. Pro adds tools for whole plugins and database entries.
Before making repairs
Keep a current backup. Check which item you are changing and what depends on it. If you are unsure about a result, get help before removing or replacing anything.
